Jimmy was raised by his grandparents in Boonville, Missouri. Growing up, he was very active in the youth ministry of his home church of First Baptist Boonville. After high school, Jimmy attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. During his time at SBU, God used a summer spent on the Missouri Baptist Camp Team to call him into youth ministry. Upon his graduation in 1998, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Religious Education.
Jimmy has been serving as a youth/student minister in Southern Baptist churches since graduation. His first church was in a Texas panhandle town called Fritch. When he made his way back to Missouri in 2001, God introduced him to the woman that would eventually become his wife, Christiana. For the last ten years, Jimmy has served in churches in the Saint Louis area. Jimmy and Christiana began serving at McCarthy in September, 2011.
Christiana was born and raised in Fulton, Missouri. Throughout her youth and adult life, she has served in the church and participated in local and global missions. Christiana also attended SBU and majored in Intercultural Studies (missions)—the last six months of her time there she served as a semester missionary in Burkina Faso, West Africa.  Jimmy and Christiana were married in May 2006. This year they celebrated their fifth year of ministry as a husband and wife team.
In their free time, they love reading, watching movies, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, playing video games, and hanging out with youth and college students. They feel truly blessed to incorporate their favorite activities into their ministry!
