Congregational Wellness Ministry

j0401588The Congregational Wellness Ministry exists to promote healthy lifestyles and overall wellness in the members of McCarthy Baptist Church. We are told in the I Corinthians 6:19 "Do you not know that your body is a temple of Holy Spirit..." (NIV). We are also told to "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." (Deuteronomy 6:5 NIV). Both of those biblical mandates can only be best followed when we are physically healthy.

Thanks to the commitment of several nurses in the congregation, along with other volunteers, we offer the following services to promote wellness:

Blood Pressure Screening

Blood pressure readings are offered every Sunday morning from 9:15-9:45 in the north alcove off the Erin Taking a Blood Pressurehallway behind the sanctuary. The nurses will set you up with a blood pressure tracking card that you can keep and use at your check-up with your doctor.

Exercise Class

We offer kick-boxing and zumba exercise classes for anyone interested.  Kick-boxing is free and Zumba is $3 per class.  The classes are offered:

Kick-Boxing
Thursdays @ 5:30pm in the Activities Building

Zumba
Sundays @ 2pm and Thursdays @ 6:30pm in the Activities Building

For more information about the exercise classes, contact the church office, Heather Ezzell or Connie Tebow.
