Tom Wilson

The Lord moved Tom and his family to Saint Joseph in April 2000, from the Sedalia, Missouri area. Tom and his wife, Susan, were high school sweethearts, married in 1986. They have two wonderful boys … Joshua and Joseph. Tom has served in various capacities at MBC, since his arrival in Saint Joseph. As a pastor in residence, he began his service at MBC as interim Minister of Music. Currently, he serves as Pastor over the Fellowship Group ministry as well as through biblical counseling. Tom received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Missouri in Rehabilitation Psychology in 1989. He continued his education at the University of Missouri – Columbia where he earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling in 1991.

Tom has served in pastoral ministry, since his ordination in 1996. As the only ‘bivocational’ pastor on staff at MBC, Tom is employed as a counselor for the Missouri Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in Saint Joseph, concurrent with his service at McCarthy.

Tom is passionate about the study of God’s Word and helping to promote healthy relationships of unity within the Body of Christ. He enjoys writing and is the author of three books : “Jesus Sharing”; “He gave some to be Teachers …” and “Helping People to Connect in Fellowship Groups”.  Tom is also the author of "Keeping Our Eyes On Jesus", a 48 lesson study on the Book of Hebrews, which is available for personal and group study through the link, below. Tom believes that there are things he will never know about God unless you tell him.  Each person’s experience with God is personal … but was never intended to be private … each person’s journey with God is a part of HIStory (His pursuit of us) and needs to be shared. Tom also believes that “the second greatest gift we have been given is … each other.” Dragonfly 2

A current ‘heart verse’ for Tom is : “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else …” 1 Thessalonians 3:12.
